Photos are an important part of how customers evaluate a Google Business Profile. Google reports that businesses adding photos to their profile see more requests for directions and more click-throughs to their website. Here's how to get it right.

GBPly recommendation
Google organises GBP photos into categories. Cover each one for a complete, professional profile.
The first image people see. Choose a high-quality photo that represents your business at its best. Recommended: 1024×576 pixels (16:9 ratio).
Your business logo, displayed as a circular thumbnail. Use a square image with your logo centred. Recommended: 720×720 pixels.
Help customers recognise your location. Shoot from multiple angles, in daylight, showing signage and the entrance clearly.
Show what customers can expect inside. Capture the ambience, décor, seating areas, and any unique features of your space.
Put faces to your business. Staff photos build trust and make your business feel approachable. Show your team in action, not just posed headshots.
Show what you sell or deliver. Restaurants should show food, salons should show finished styles, tradespeople should show completed work.
Google's AI search experiences, including Ask Maps, are increasingly visual. Google says Maps analyses information about places, which includes the photos on a profile, and answers can be presented visually.
Maps is a visual product, and current, representative photos help customers understand what a business actually offers. Google also includes photos throughout its Maps experiences. We recommend maintaining strong visual coverage on that basis — not because photo volume determines whether you appear in an AI-generated recommendation, which Google has not published.
Stock images misrepresent your business and add nothing customers can't find elsewhere. Real photos of your premises, team and work are far more useful and more convincing.
Poor quality photos damage credibility. Every photo should be sharp, well-lit, and professional-looking — even if taken on a phone.
A profile with photos from 3 years ago signals neglect. Google's own guidance asks businesses to keep photos current, and recent photos give customers an accurate picture of your business today.
Google supports short videos on GBP. A 30-second video tour or product showcase can help customers understand the space, product or service more clearly than a static image alone.
Our built-in media manager makes it easy to upload, schedule, and organise your GBP photos.
