Yext is an enterprise platform. It maintains a knowledge graph of your business data, syndicates it across a large publisher network, layers governance, permissions and integrations on top, and increasingly ships AI agents for search and reputation. For a brand with hundreds of locations and a procurement process, that is a defensible purchase.
Most searches for a Yext alternative come from the other end of that spectrum: the cost, the annual commitment and the breadth are all larger than the actual requirement, which is usually to make Google Business Profile perform. GBPly is the narrow version of that job — self-serve, monthly, priced per profile, and deep on the one platform that decides whether a local customer finds you.
Yext is a serious platform and it is worth being precise about its strengths before you leave it.
Compiled from Yext platform pages (Listings, Reviews, Reputation agents) , reviewed August 2026.
The honest headline is scope and commitment, not capability gaps. Yext covers more surface; GBPly costs a fraction of it and goes deeper on Google specifically.
Sign up, start a free trial, pay $39 or $69 per profile per month, cancel yourself. No annual minimum, no seat negotiation, no onboarding project — which also means no procurement cycle before you can test whether it works.
No publisher network to configure or reconcile. Everything in GBPly writes to the official Google Business Profile API: fields, posts, photos, Q&A, chat settings, the map pin, verification state and performance data.
Rankings measured across a geographic grid, replayed as an animated history with profile-change markers, GIF export and client-portal playback. This is the evidence layer local teams actually report on, and it is in the plan price.
Agencies get a portal carrying their own name, logo and colours where clients approve posts, upload photos and read reviews without an account, plus branded reminder emails listing only outstanding tasks.
Agency workspaces send review requests and client email through their own SMTP, OAuth, SendGrid, Mailgun, SES, Postmark, Brevo or Resend account, and SMS through their own Twilio, Vonage, Sinch or Infobip account.
AI posts and review replies are grounded in a crawl of the site, refuse to invent URLs, and pass a policy gate aligned to Google's content rules before anything publishes.
The same audited data as our full comparison matrix, narrowed to the capabilities people weigh when they look for a Yext alternative. Where Yext charges separately for something we mark it as a paid add-on, and where we could not substantiate a capability from their own material we mark it "not documented publicly" rather than claiming it is missing.

Yext is typically sold as an annual per-location subscription with tiers by product, and enterprise deals are negotiated rather than listed. Search interest in "yext pricing" and "how much does yext cost" tells you how often that is the sticking point, and we are not going to quote a figure for someone else's contract — check Yext's own pricing page and your renewal quote.
GBPly's numbers are public and fixed: $39 per profile per month for Business, $69 per profile per month for Agency, monthly or annual, free trial on paid plans, cancel in the dashboard. Ten profiles are covered by the x10 tiers at $199 and $349 per month.
Compare on the work you actually do. If your renewal is largely paying for a publisher network you no longer need, a Google-only tool at a per-profile price is a straightforward saving. If that network is doing real work, this is not a like-for-like swap.
One profile, 200 review request emails and 200 AI credits a month. Business x10 covers up to 10 profiles.
Unlimited review request emails and AI credits, the white-label client portal, custom email and SMS connectors and agency branding. Agency x10 covers up to 10 profiles.
Monthly or annual billing, no long-term contract, and a free trial on paid plans. See the full plan breakdown.
If you operate hundreds of locations with franchise or regional data owners, need approval workflows and audit trails at organisation scale, or push structured data into site search and landing pages, Yext is built for that and GBPly is not.
The same applies if multi-publisher syndication is contractually part of your brand's data governance, or if voice assistants, navigation systems and industry aggregators are meaningful discovery channels for you.
GBPly is the right call when Google is the channel that matters, you want measurable movement on it, and you would rather test a product this week than start a procurement cycle.
GBPly connects with a Google sign-in and reads live profile data, reviews and performance history from the Google Business Profile API, so there is no import project. Profiles are grouped into workspaces, branding is set once per workspace, and team members are invited with roles.
Before ending a syndication contract, check what happens to publisher listings created or maintained under it — some revert, go stale or need reclaiming, and that is worth confirming in Yext's own documentation rather than assuming.
On the GBPly side there is no lock-in to worry about later: two-factor authentication can be required workspace-wide, every account can export its data as JSON, and account deletion is self-serve.
Connect your Google Business Profile, run a grid scan and generate a month of posts on the free trial. If it isn't a better fit than Yext for your work, nothing to cancel beyond the trial.
