    Competition Analysis

    Go to Competition Analysis →

Competition Analysis benchmarks a business profile against the other businesses competing for the same searches nearby. Search an area, see how each competitor's profile stacks up, and generate a detailed audit report showing exactly where you can overtake them. This is the version of the tool shown on Business and Business Pro plans — agency plans see Lead Finder instead.

    Searching for Competitors

Enter a search query (e.g. 'dentist in Manchester') and the tool returns the businesses Google Maps shows for it.

Results include business name, rating, review count, address, phone number, and a Profile Strength score.

Each search costs one Analysis credit.

    Understanding Profile Strength

Every result is scored on how well its Google Business Profile is set up, relative to the others in the same search.

The score is labelled as Tough Competitor, Room to Compete, or Easy to Outrank — a quick read on which competitors are genuinely well optimised and which are beatable with modest effort.

    Generating a Report

Select a business from your search results and click 'Generate Report'. The tool analyses that profile in detail.

Reports cover profile completeness, review analysis, competitor comparison, and specific recommendations.

Each report costs one Analysis credit. Reports you generate are kept under 'Saved Competitors' so you can revisit them later.

Reports include an 'Improve my profile' shortcut that takes you straight to the matching items on the Optimisation page.

    Search History

Every search you run is kept in Search History so you can reopen previous result sets without spending another credit.

    Credits

Searches and reports both consume Analysis credits. Purchase credit packs from the Billing page.

Credits are workspace-specific — they belong to the workspace, not your personal account.

    Sharing & Presenting Reports

Share any report via a public link — the viewer doesn't need an account.

You can also present a report as a slideshow, which walks through each section of the analysis with visual slides. Useful for internal reviews or showing stakeholders where the profile stands.
