Using GBP Expert in GBPly
Go to GBP Expert →The GBP Expert page analyses your Google Business Profile and tells you exactly what to improve. It uses a priority-weighted scoring system to focus your attention on the changes that matter most.
Notices at the Top of the Page
A dismissible banner explains that the profile now feeds AI search — Google uses Business Profile data in Gemini, AI Overviews and "Ask Maps", so accurate categories, structured attributes, fresh photos and consistent name/address/phone details shape how AI describes the business. Dismiss it once you've read it and it won't come back.
If Google hasn't verified the profile, a verification warning appears with the current status and a link to the relevant Google page to complete or fix verification. Until that's resolved, edits may not appear publicly.
Completeness Checklist
The checklist shows every profile field and whether it's complete. Fields are categorised by priority — High, Medium, and Low.
High-priority fields (like business hours, description, and categories) have the biggest impact on local search visibility.
Green ticks indicate completed fields. Red crosses show what's missing. Click any field to edit it directly.
A business-type badge at the top of the page shows whether the profile is treated as a Storefront, Service Area or Hybrid business. The checklist adapts to that type — a service-area business is checked on its service areas rather than a storefront address, for example.
Once an item is complete, its priority badge turns green and outlined. That's a completed item, not an outstanding high-priority task.
Editing Profile Fields
Click on any incomplete or existing field to open the editor. You can update your business name, address, phone number, website, description, hours, categories, services, and more.
Changes are pushed directly to your Google Business Profile via the API. Some changes may take a few minutes to appear on Google.
Special fields like business hours have dedicated editors with day-by-day time pickers.
Always sync your data after making changes to ensure the dashboard reflects the latest state of your profile on Google.
AI Website Summary
If the business has a website, the system crawls it and generates a summary. This summary is used by the AI content features to write more relevant posts and descriptions.
The crawl runs automatically after a profile is connected, and retries in the background if the site was temporarily unreachable. You can force a fresh crawl at any time with the Re-analyse website button on the GBP Expert page — useful after a site redesign or a change of services.
Syncing Data
The Sync button pulls the latest data from Google — profile details, reviews, posts, media, and insights.
We recommend syncing at least once a day if you're actively managing your profile, though the system also syncs automatically in the background.
