Using Citation Management in GBPly
Go to Citation Management →Citation Management finds where your business is listed online (directories, maps and review sites) and checks whether each listing's name, address, phone number and website match your Google Business Profile.
Running a Scan
Open Citation Management, choose the business and click Run Citation Scan. Owners, admins and editors can run scans; viewers can see the results.
A scan searches the web for listings that mention your business, opens the most likely pages and compares the details with your Google Business Profile. Most scans finish within a few minutes, and you can leave the page while it runs.
What a Scan Does and Doesn't Find
This is a best-effort check of listings we can find through search. It won't find every listing online, and a site that isn't shown may still list your business.
Each scan checks a limited number of pages, starting with the most important directories for your country. Listings it didn't get to are kept and checked on a later scan.
Scans work for businesses in any country. The directory lists are most complete for the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Ireland, so results elsewhere may be thinner.
Citation Management finds and checks listings that already exist. It doesn't create, submit or edit listings on other sites.
Who Can Use It
Workspace owners, admins and editors can run scans and mark listings. Viewers can see the results but can't start a scan.
Fixing an Inaccurate Listing
Open the listing from the results and sign in to that directory to edit it, so the details match your Google Business Profile exactly.
Back in GBPly, mark the listing as corrected. Run another scan later: it only counts as accurate once a new check confirms the change, because some directories take days to update.
If a listing isn't your business, or is an old duplicate, ask the directory to remove it or merge it with your main listing.
Understanding the Results
Verified: we opened the page and confirmed it's your business. Only verified listings count as citations.
Please check it: the phone and postcode match but the name is written differently. Open it and decide.
Couldn't read: we tried, but the site blocked us, was down or no longer exists. This doesn't mean the listing is wrong.
Not checked: we didn't try to open the page because the site can't be read automatically or covers other countries.
The accuracy score counts only details we could compare on verified listings. Coverage shows how many of the listings found have actually been checked.
Fixed a listing? Mark it as corrected, then run another scan. The listing only shows as accurate once a later check confirms it.
Credits and Re-scanning
Each scan uses 25 Rank Tracker credits from your workspace balance, the same credits used by the Rank Tracker. The price and your balance are shown on the Run button.
If a scan fails on our side and produces no usable result, the credits are refunded automatically.
Re-scanning about once a month is enough for most businesses. Each scan re-checks known listings when they're due and looks for new ones.
