Granting Access to Your Google Business Profile
This guide is for business owners who need to give someone else access to manage their Google Business Profile.
Before You Start
You must be logged into the Google account that owns or has owner-level access to the Business Profile you want to allow another user to manage.
How to Add an Owner or Manager
Follow these steps while logged into the Google account that owns the Business Profile:
• Step 1 — Go to business.google.com, or search for your business name on Google and click your Business Profile.
• Step 2 — Click the three-dot menu (⋮), then select 'Business Profile settings', then 'People and access'.
• Step 3 — Click the 'Add' button (top-left of the People and access screen).
• Step 4 — Enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to.
• Step 5 — Under 'Access', choose either 'Manager' (recommended) or 'Owner'.
• Step 6 — Click 'Invite'.
• Step 7 — The invited person will receive an email and can accept the invitation immediately.
You can also reach People and access by going to business.google.com, selecting the profile, and clicking 'People and access' from the left-hand menu.
Owner vs Manager — Which to Choose?
Managers can edit profile information, respond to reviews, create posts, and manage photos — everything needed for day-to-day management.
Owners have the same abilities plus they can add or remove other users and delete the profile entirely.
For most agency relationships, Manager access is sufficient and recommended. Only grant Owner access if you want the person to be able to manage other users on the profile.
What Happens After the Invite
The invited person receives an email from Google and can accept straight away. Once accepted, the Business Profile will appear in their Google account.
There may be a short waiting period (up to 7 days) before certain admin actions — like removing users or transferring ownership — become available to newly added users.
Revoking Access
To remove someone's access, go to People and access on the Business Profile, select the user, and click 'Remove person'.
Any reviews replies, posts, or edits they made while they had access will remain on the profile.
