Profile Guard

Profile Guard takes a snapshot of your profile's key fields (name, address, phone, hours, categories, etc.) when you enable it.

Each time your data is synced, the current state is compared against the snapshot. Any differences are flagged as changes.

• External Alerts — the changes detected since your snapshot that are still waiting on a decision.

• Edit History — a record of profile changes over time, so you can see what changed and when, including changes you made yourself.

• Restore to Date — a point-in-time restore: pick a past date and push the profile's field values from that point back to Google.

Detected changes appear in a list showing the field name, old value, and new value. Each change has a diff view so you can see exactly what changed.

Each change has three actions: Acknowledge (accept it and update your protected snapshot), Revert (push the original value back to Google), or Ignore (dismiss the alert without changing the snapshot).

If a change is legitimate (e.g. you updated your hours), click Acknowledge to update your protected snapshot. The change is resolved and won't be flagged again.

If a change was unauthorised, click Revert to push your original value back to Google. This restores the field to its protected state.

Reverts are pushed via the Google Business Profile API and may take a few minutes to take effect.

When multiple changes are detected at once, use Acknowledge All or Revert All to handle them in one go.

This saves time when Google makes multiple updates simultaneously.
